Mike Compton and Joe Newberry mine a rich vein of country music – the period during the ‘30s and ’40s when brother duet music was transitioning into what is now known as bluegrass. This two man band works well in the venues large and small that Presenters’ Consortium members are looking to program.

As virtuosos of mandolin, banjo, and guitar, combined with their deeply rooted singing, their music has reached audiences at venues such as the Grand Ole Opry, A Prairie Home Companion, Merlefest, the Transatlantic Sessions, as well as the soundtracks of O Brother, Where Art Thou and Cold Mountain.
