The American Automobile Association (AAA) and the Canadian Automobile Association (CAA) have supported travelers in their journeys for more than a century by offering their members

• travel safety planning and services
• destination information and discounts at participating businesses and attractions
• the diamond rating system as a guarantee of quality lodging establishments

The Blue Ridge Parkway Association has been promoting the people and places of America’s Favorite Drive since 1949. Together, we are able to provide travelers all the information they need to plan the best road trips and vacations along the Blue Ridge Parkway region.

Parkway Resources and Information to Share with Your Members

BRPA provides its Parkway publications for distribution by AAA counselors to their members. If you’re a AAA counselor, please contact our office at 828-670-1924 to request materials for distribution. Please note that our printing schedule has temporarily changed because of the pandemic. We are still distributing the 72nd edition of the travel planner and you should use up your current stock before requesting more.

BRPA also produces a seasonal newsletter full of all the best bets in Parkway events exclusively for AAA and CAA counselors. If you’re a AAA or CAA counselor who’d like to receive the Blue Ridge Parkway Traveler newsletter by email each Spring and Fall, please contact us.

BRPA produced the Blue Ridge Parkway FAM Tour for AAA/CAA counselors for 30+ years. (Because of COVID, we aren’t currently doing an in-person FAM, but virtual opportunities may be available.)

The Parkway FAM Tour offered counselors a personal experience of the destinations in the great Parkway region and its communities — local food and spirits, scenic beauty, museums, attractions, history and culture. Exploring the Parkway with BRPA’s engaging guides was so popular among counselors, the tour sold out a year in advance.

Parkway Maps & Trip Planning

If you’re a member of AAA and are planning a road trip to the Blue Ridge Parkway, ask for BRPA’s publications (Blue Ridge Parkway Travel Planner and Blue Ridge Parkway Map) at your local club office.  If your AAA office doesn’t have them in stock, ask them to request the materials from us. You can also request materials directly from us via our online form.

Discounts & AAA Approved Businesses on the Parkway

Many BRPA Businesses and Attractions participate in offering discounts to AAA/ CAA members and many BRPA Lodging Members are also Diamond Rated and AAA Approved. Ask about a AAA discount when you book or purchase tickets.
