BRP Crabtree Falls

Blue Ridge Parkway Milepost 339.5 – 340.2: Crabtree Falls

Crabtree Falls is accessed by one of two moderate to strenuous routes: 1.8 Miles (round-trip to the falls and back) or 2.5 to 3 Miles (round trip for the whole loop) depending on which route you take to the 60-foot falls. Visitors say, whichever path you take, the view and chance for great photos are worth the climb!

The brilliant pink crabtree blossoms each May, and was once the cornerstone of this area’s wildflower display. Though there aren’t as many crabtrees here now, the area still offers an impressive array of wildflowers each spring.

Camping & Picnicking

The campground has 71 tent sites and 22 RV sites. Reservations for approximately two dozen of the sites are available online at www.recreation.gov; the remaining sites are first come first serve. The picnic area and restrooms are open seasonally.
