BRP Crabtree Falls

Blue Ridge Parkway Milepost 339.5 – 340.2: Crabtree Falls

Crabtree Falls is accessed by one of two routes: a three-mile total hike that leads to the base of the falls or a more strenuous 3.5-mile loop trail that leads to the top of the waterfall. Visitors say, whichever path you take, the view and chance for great photos are worth the climb!

The brilliant pink crabtree blossoms each May, and was once the cornerstone of this area’s wildflower display. Though there aren’t as many crabtrees here now, the area still offers an impressive array of wildflowers each spring.

The campground has 71 tent sites and 22 RV sites. Crabtree Falls Loop Trail is a 2.5-mile, strenuous hike to the 70-foot-tall falls. For information call (828) 675-4236.
