Blue Ridge Parkway Milepost 331: Museum of North Carolina Minerals Visitor Center and Park Store
The Museum of North Carolina Minerals is located in Spruce Pine, North Carolina, where the mountains are among the richest in gems and minerals in the state. Interactive displays present the significance of mining to the area’s history and economy, as well as geographical context for a trip on the Blue Ridge Parkway.
Educational and fun for the whole family, the museum includes a Visitor Center with area information. There is no admission to view the more than 300 varieties of regional minerals on display, and the museum is open seven days a week.
